How the simulation is done

Constant experiment parameters

Variable parameters:

• nim libp2p versions:
  • nim-libp2p:v1.2 (c4da9be32cc01efa2de066c396fe9ef1c7769aa1)
  • nim-libp2p:v1.2.1 rc (will not be released) (d6feb1bbc2805c)
  • nim-libp2p:v1.3.0 rc (d2eee202e8f6045cafb596f893919300229a7482)

Simulation workflow:

• Deploy 1000 nimlibp2p nodes
• Messages will be injected in the network at a rate of 1 message per second from different nodes.
• After 35~ minutes, simulation is killed and data is gathered.
• For each node during that 35 minutes, we get the average.
  • The following plots are made of 1000 averages of those 35 minutes for each node.
  • The number that appear in the plots is the median.
