Deployment:

Every experiment is realized using Kubernetes and several physical machines in the same cluster location. These machines hold up several kubernetes nodes each, where the deployments are made.

Dependen on what is being tested, the deployment process can vary, alongside with the parameters:

Waku

There are several parameters that can vary between Waku deployments:

• Version
• What implementation is being tested: ie nWaku ,goWaku
• Protocols: ie relay, store, filter, lightpush
• Message injection. In order to test some functionalities, messages are injected via Waku REST API. This also has parameters like:
  • Messages per second
  • Payload size
  • Number of messages
• What sizes: Number of nodes (pods)
• Extra parameters:
  • Extra waku parameters
  • Latency, packet dro, etc.

Depending on what is the intention of the simulation, the parameters will be adapted accordingly.

Deployment process:

The standard procedure for the waku deployment is done in the following order:

1. Bootstrap nodes
2. Store nodes
